Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 August 2026

These terms govern your use of the Rice&Cracker Grading website and, when submissions reopen, our grading services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Rice&Cracker Grading website ("the Site") or any grading services offered by Rice&Cracker Grading ("RAC", "we", "us" or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or our services.

2. Description of Services

Rice&Cracker Grading provides third-party authentication and condition grading services for Pokémon Trading Card Game cards. Our services include card authentication, condition assessment, numeric grading on a 1–10 scale, encapsulation in a protective holder, and return shipping of submitted cards.

Grading submissions are currently temporarily unavailable due to high demand. This Site is provided for informational purposes during this period.

3. Grading Opinions Are Subjective

Card grading, while performed according to documented internal standards, reflects the professional opinion of our graders at a single point in time. Grades are not guarantees of a card’s market value, future value, or condition in perpetuity, and we make no warranty that our grading opinions will match those of any other grading company or individual.

4. Card Ownership and Risk of Loss

You represent that you are the rightful owner of any card submitted to us, or are authorised by the rightful owner to submit it.

While a card is in our possession for grading, reasonable care and industry-standard security and handling procedures will be used. Risk of loss or damage during shipping to and from us is addressed in section 6 below.

5. Authenticity and Altered Cards

We reserve the right to refuse to grade, or to note as altered or counterfeit, any card reasonably believed to be inauthentic, artificially enhanced, recoloured, resurfaced, trimmed, or otherwise altered from its original manufactured state.

Cards identified as counterfeit or altered may be returned ungraded, returned with a designation reflecting this finding, or, where legally required, retained and reported in accordance with applicable law.

6. Shipping and Insurance

Customers are responsible for safely packaging cards prior to submission, following our published packaging guidelines, and for arranging and paying for postage to us.

We strongly recommend that customers use a tracked and insured service for submissions, and retain proof of postage. We are not responsible for loss or damage occurring before a submission is received and logged by us.

Return shipments are packaged and dispatched by us using a tracked service. Return postage and any applicable insurance are quoted separately based on the declared value of your submission.

7. Turnaround Times

Stated turnaround times for each service tier are estimates only. They begin from the date a submission is received and logged, and are not guaranteed delivery dates.

Turnaround times may be affected by submission volume, authentication complexity, or circumstances beyond our control.

8. Fees and Payment

Grading fees are charged per card according to the service tier selected at the time of submission, as published on our Pricing page. All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP).

Fees are payable at the point of submission. Once grading of a card has begun, fees for that card are non-refundable, except where required by law or where we have failed to provide the service described.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from our grading services shall not exceed the greater of the fee paid for grading the card in question, or the declared value of that card as recorded at the point of submission.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of market value, except where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Disputes Regarding Grades

Grading decisions reflect our graders’ professional assessment and are final. If you believe a grade has been assigned in error, contact us within 30 days of receiving your card and we will review the submission.

11. Intellectual Property

The Rice&Cracker Grading name, logo, label designs and website content are our property and may not be reproduced, copied or used without written permission, except as necessary to display or resell a card graded and encapsulated by us.

12. Prohibited Submissions

We reserve the right to refuse any submission that is illegal to possess or transfer, suspected to be stolen property, or otherwise in breach of these Terms.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site or our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, this does not affect your statutory rights, including any right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you are resident.

15. Contact
